QUALIFICATIONS

1. Master’s degree with an endorsement in Administration preferred

2. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a K-12 public school setting

3. Excellent oral and written communications

4. Ability to prepare clear, concise and accurate reports

5. Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relations at all levels

6. Knowledgeable of Board Policies, state and federal laws, and student rights

7. Strong interpersonal, grouping processing and presentation skills

JOB GOAL

To assist in the development and implementation of the instructional program that will provide the best possible instructional experience for each student.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Assists with scheduling facility use and maintenance

2. Establishes a program to promote energy conservation with the assistance of Student and Facilities Support Specialist

3. Reports to the Director of Operations any safety hazards observed and work orders needed

4. Conducts regular “walk through” audits of the school facilities to insure operating efficiency, optimum educational environment, and compliance with organization’s energy and safety policy

5. Responsible for the coordination of all efforts at providing safe and healthful facilities

6. Development, implementation and maintenance of the School Health and Safety, Emergency Management, and Contingency Operating Plans

7. Identification of physical hazards present at educational facilities and development of a corrective action/mitigation plan in consultation with the Directors of Student Services and Operations

8. Conducts new employee and annual refresher training in the system’s emergency procedures and the National Incident Management Systems (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS) and OSHA-required safety topics

9. Coordinates with CCS Supervisor Designee on-site investigations of accidents and incidents, prepares reports and makes corrective recommendations as appropriate to the CCS Supervisor Designee

10. Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with local emergency responders

11. Maintains knowledge of current and emerging issues and trends in the industry as they pertain to health, safety, and facility security

12. Serves as liaison to school nutrition

13. Assists with administrative, student behavior, and attendance issues under the direction of the Principal

14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal

JOB GOAL

The Response to Intervention (RTI) Facilitator is a teacher who has both content and instructional expertise particularly in reading, writing, and/or math.  This person facilitates the district’s Response to Intervention and Instruction Framework and small group reading model.  The RTI Facilitator focuses on enhancing staff ability to provide intervention that (1) builds student understanding and skills, (2) is academically appropriate, (3) addresses the identified skill deficits for students, and (4) enhances student sense of engagement in and ownership of learning.  The RTI Facilitator (1) serves as a member of a building leadership team working to align district and building goals, (2) evaluates student data in support of effective school improvement planning, (3) works collaboratively with other instructional leaders to design and deliver professional development as directed, and (4) participates in professional development and inquiry into his or her own instructional leadership practice.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Schedules, organizes and maintains Tier II and Tier III programming

2. Schedules/oversees universal screener testing for all students in the school

3. Interprets universal screener data and conducts monthly RTI2 data team meetings

4. Conducts fidelity monitoring for Tier II and Tier III programming

5. Communicates universal screener and progress monitoring progress to students, teachers, and parents

6. Maintains student intervention records

7. Attends S-Team meetings as part of the referral process

8. Interviews and recommends interventionists

9. Provides professional development for interventionists on effective implementation of intervention strategies

10. Facilitates Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) among teachers and non-certified personnel in which issues related to implementing effective interventions are considered, current research and writing on effective practice is read and discussed, engaging lessons are planned, and student work and data are reviewed to inform instruction for intervention

11. Trains new staff members in small group reading instruction

12. Maintains leveled library

13. Attends district-level and state-level meetings pertaining to the duties of the job

14. Performs other related duties assigned by the Principal
